Consider This…

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2

There are 1050 commands in the New Testament for Christians to obey and another 613 in the Old Testament. So which ones should Christians follow New Testament or Old Testament?

15 “If you love me, you will keep my commandments. John 14:15

27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.  Ezekiel 36:27

29 But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men. Acts 5:29

19 Therefore whoever relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 5:19

In the above short scripture bomb, that’s what I call more than two scriptures to make a point, it becomes evident that we Christians are to follow ALL of God’s commandments, decrees and regulations only because there is goodness and wisdom in those commandments, decrees and regulations.

I realize many secular people would argue that an individual can be good and wise without being a Christian to that I say, “Bully!” Yes I did channel former president Theodore Roosevelt for a brief moment there…not sorry. It was not until I started reading the bible that I realized the goodness the righteousness and the wisdom that our Heavenly Father God Almighty wanted us to have so that we may live a good life full of love, wisdom and righteousness.

There are 1050 commandments regulations and decrees that we Christians have to follow in the New Testament. There are 613 regulations, commandments and decrees in the Old Testament some that we do not have to follow anymore since the arrival and teachings of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Is it good to be a Christian? Yes very much so. Is it easy? It is easy to become a Christian but it’s not hard to be a Christian…maybe a little busy but not hard.

Remember:

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21
