When I blog I always end with…
Remember:
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21
I have come to realize an error and to which I will address now. We Christians are so full of joy that we wish to share that with all the people everywhere hence why John 3:16 is so well known. Being a Christian is wonderful and full of good things and I will tell everyone to become a Christian because of the love and goodness. Alas let me just say this about the Christian faith which is that it is filled with love and goodness but it’s not always easy. It’s not always easy because of people some good some bad and some people that are just evil.
19 We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. 1 John 5:19
And
20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Isaiah 5:20
Because of this we Christians should be in a continuous state of prayer but we are not. Unfortunately our present day society and the state of the world weigh heavy in our everyday life. All too often we have jobs, house cleaning, meal preparations, school meetings, family functions, shopping, doctor appointments, and numerous other errands we must conduct that occupies our time. We worry about our children and their welfare and education we worry about the world they will inherit. By the time any parent goes to bed they are too exhausted to pray but they should. If this is your first time here I occasionally do something that I call “a scripture bomb” which is inserting two or more scriptures to make a point.
11 Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually! 1 Chronicles 16:11
And
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Ephesians 6:10
And
27 that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, Acts 17:27
And
29 But from there you will seek the Lord your God and you will find him, if you search after him with all your heart and with all your soul. Deuteronomy 4:29
And
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. Matthew 7:7
So the point here is that we should always seek Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior with all our heart and all that we are for all things. An expression that I always hear is to “lay your troubles and/or your burdens at the feet of Jesus.” The metaphor is simple we should pray to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior and ask Him for what we need. No we don’t ask for money but we do ask for financial assistance asking for money leads to greed and greed is not good. I usually pray for wisdom later I pray for strength then I pray for wisdom and strength then I throw my arms into the air and say “I need help and I will be grateful for all things you have given to me.” I found these scriptures through an article about the very same topic http://How to Pray and Leave Burdens at Jesus’ Feet (ibelieve.com)
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
And
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Contained in these scriptures are four easy steps to laying down your problems at the feet of Jesus.
1) Don’t worry about anything – If you are a person that worries a lot this might be a challenge for you. Christians know that they can put their trust into Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior although there are some problems that seem insurmountable to us then some of the Christians will feel overwhelmed and unsure if Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior can answer those prayers. My answer to those people…yes Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior does.
2) Pray about everything. If you are a Christian and confide in God frequently this is not a problem. If you are new to the Christian faith praying is the most comforting act in the Christian faith.
3) Tell God what you need. I use to ask God for more money so I could make tuition, which is 87% less than what it is now, then I started working more hours. Then I prayed I need more time to study and then I became poor because I was working less. So I just threw my arms up and said, “Thy will be done.” God can and will give us what we need but sometimes there is a lesson attached to it.
4) Thank Him for all’s He done. I know God watches over me, heals me, and blesses me all the time but I am probably not aware of these blessings so I always pray with thankfulness.
So my error is that I cannot say enough how good it is to be a Christian but it’s not always easy but it is worth it.
