I found this article about “11 Reasons to Become a Christian” after reading it I decided to use this article as a theme to this week’s blog. It does tell of the many good things about the Christian life and well worth the read to anyone who is considering becoming a Christian. Below is a link to that page.
11 Reasons Why Being a Christian is Totally Worth It
1. All your sins are instantly forgiven.
Part of becoming a Christian is that you confess and ask forgiveness of your sins.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
Because…
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23
2. You get help to stop consciously sinning altogether!
18 Because he himself suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. Hebrews 2:18
Simply put Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior was tempted by the evil one and so Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior can help us turn away from our sins.
3. The Holy Spirit starts to teach you and free you from yourself.
When you pray to become a Christen and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you will be filled with the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that that will teach you to pray to read the bible to learn and follow all the commandments, decrees, and regulations from the bible to walk closer with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior spoken and guided by Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
13 But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. John 16:13
4. You have peace and joy that nothing can take away.
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
5. Jesus is your mighty Helper and Friend!
Whenever we need help or just someone to lean on we pray to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior for all things.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
6. Your earthly and material needs will be taken care of.
It may be hard to believe but Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior will watch over us and take care of us…always. Not always the way we think we need help but Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior will always be there for us.
10 The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing. Psalm 34:10
7. Your life will become stable.
Here some people feel that being a Christian means you will not be a push over or not see deceit which I agree with but I feel that Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior has great plans for us and our paths in this Christian journey will be made straight and smooth.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
8. You will always have something to do.
My life as a Christian is always busy and never boring so trust me when I say there is much truth in the above statement. The bible is full of instructions for the Christian and their Christian journey. Reading the bible becomes an essential part of the Christian day as we learn these instructions and put them to use in our daily life.
9. You will have meaningful relationships.
The Christian Gaming Community is mostly a group of Christians that happen to like gaming. When we are together we are comfortable, safe, and enjoy the company of like minded individuals we call it “fellowship.” It is a meaningful relationship with other Christians.
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:10
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7
10. You will be a light in this world.
Our present day world has so much evil in it these are dark times in our world the darkness of war, violence, and greed just to name a few. It will be easy for the world to see that we are Christians because our light will pierce the darkness.
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35
And
4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4
11. You will rule in the world to come.
21 To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. Revelation 3:21
Below is a prayer to start your life as a Christian.
Dear Lord,
I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself only. I am sorry and repent all my sins. I ask that you forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me to save me. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life; I give you my life to you. From this day forward help me to live every day for you and in a way that pleases you. I love you Lord and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you. Amen
Remember:
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21
