2 Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2
It is that time of year again, where trees and lights are up, and cheerful music is played just about everywhere you go. We are reminded that “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and everyone is expected to be in a cheerful mood.
However, this can also be the most stressful and difficult time of the year; shopping for gifts, decorating the house, wrapping the gifts, baking cookies and cakes. Shop some more, take the children to see Santa, wrapping those other gifts, attend that office party, go shopping again, plan the dinner menu, ship all of those wrapped presents, rush to get things done at work so you can take some time off, pay for expedited shipping for last minute gifts….
STOP! Breathe! Relax. We can easily drive ourselves mad this time of the year. We get so busy with the expectations of the season that we forget why we are celebrating Christmas in the first place. In the midst of this busy season, take some time to rest and remember:
A teenage girl, her doting husband, and a baby whose birth, life, eventual death, and resurrection would change the course of history a child whose birth promises “peace on earth, goodwill to men” Jesus is the Prince of Peace. The Promised One the Messiah the God of the Universe wrapped up in human flesh. He came for you and for me for all of us. It does not matter who you are, what you have done, or where the road of your life has taken you. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior loves’ you and came into this world to save you. You are a beloved child of God!
To be a Christian means doing the good things to love, show kindness, be compassionate, to be humbled, to be wise, to care for your family, friends and strangers. Below is a prayer to start your Christian journey.
Dear Lord,
I admit that I am a sinner. I have done many things that don’t please you. I have lived my life for myself only. I am sorry and repent all my sins. I ask that you forgive me. I believe that you died on the cross for me to save me. I come to you now and ask you to take control of my life; I give you my life to you. From this day forward help me to live every day for you and in a way that pleases you. I love you Lord and I thank you that I will spend all eternity with you. Amen
Remember:
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
God bless all those that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy and wisdom in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen
21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21
