Consider This…

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2

Mrs. Summers wrote this about the above video which I thought was great.

(Mrs.) Summers

Paul Washer is an incredible preacher…he has so much heart, so much passion, and wisdom to be shared.

It was an interesting watch. I used to be involved in the prayer ministry at the Bible College I attended, and we learned a lot of things over the years.

Prayer is a powerful, powerful thing. I think Washer tempers his words about prayer meetings being worthless in his admission that we are to pray for the sick, and to ask for prayer on our behalf-and it is very biblical to do so (James 5:13-14, 16).

I think what it boils down to is the heart-the intentions when we come together in prayer, asking for what we need with humility, God is pleased (2 Chronicles 7:14). If we come with pride, or arrogance, or a desire to gossip about others with no real concern for their welfare-the Lord sees the motive of the heart, and will hold us accountable for it (Luke 18:9-14, Proverbs 15:29).

When we prayed with repentance, God moved greatly on campus. Prayer goes as deep and moves as powerfully as we will allow it to in our hearts and in our lives…it is like an ocean, and often in the church we stay in the sandbox. I would be more cautious personally in stating that the meetings that are happening in the church (those with good intentions) are worthless, rather, that if we ask more of God, He is willing to limitlessly give us more.

Remember:

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
