Consider This…

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2

I am the only sibling that went into nursing and wanting to care for people. Later I would realize that this background would serve me in taking care of my parents obviously this is what God wanted me to do.

I am a Christian that follows God’s commandments and will. I am a Christian that follows the teachings of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior but I am still a slow learner. For the past few weeks my sister has been verbally attacking me to the point I would call emotional abuse. However I now realize that she is persecuting me because she is not taking care of my dad and I am but I did not realize this until today…like I said I am a slow learner. Out of that reakization I remembered these two scriptures.

14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.” Exodus 14:14

And

Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 2 Timothy 3:12

Yes I do feel persecuted a lot but now I feel a sense of comfort that I have been persecuted not just for taking care of my dad but also being told that I am not conducting myself as a Christian. Something I did not agree with because I thought adhering to God’s commandments and will and the teachings of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior is the things that we Christians are suppose to do which I hold dearly in my life but according to my sister I am not. That’s when I realized my sister wanted to take of my dad instead of me so then persecution of me becomes her weapon. My sister who works 60 hours a week is most likely not a good candidate to take care of my dad I on the other hand have retired and free 24/7 to take care of my dad. Because of my background and availability I become the most likely choice to take care of my dad. Rather than lashing out in anger, which I have been, I should do the things that I am suppose to do.

But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, Matthew 5:44

A lot more loving, a lot more forgiving and a lot more praying got it.

Remember:

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
