Consider This…

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2

For the past few months my sister has been extremely emotionally abusive with me. As a result I have resorted to many of prayers for peace, wisdom and strength. Her hostility and anger is very harsh and hostile even though she says she is a Christian her behavior towards me is not.20 Those who say, “I love God,” and hate their brothers or sisters, are liars; for those who do not love a brother or sister whom they have seen, cannot love God whom they have not seen. 1 John 4:20

I have thought very often of the above scripture and wondered if this applied to my sister. She says she is a Christian but rarely exemplifies the trait of a mature Christian possibly to others but not to me. Below is a scripture that I hold close to my heart.

A new commandment I give you, Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. John 13:34

I believe that loves overcomes many things including those that have sinned against you. I love my sister and it is through love that I can forgive her the sins against me.

12 Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer. Romans 12:12

I found the above scripture by accident and thought it was appropriate for me. I hope someday my sister will put away her anger and hatred. In the meantime I will be patient with her as she continues her abuse of me. I will pray often for her and hope that she recognizes her error and stop this abusive relationship that she has created.

Remember:

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

God bless all that read this with His love, light, grace, mercy, and wisdom. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. Revelation 22:21
