There are people that do not believe that God influence’s our life or will guide us to do the things that God wants us to do. Let me tell you our Heavenly Father God Almighty can do many things. When I look at my life I have come to realize that God Almighty guided me to this point in my life to take care of my parents and gave me the education the knowledge and the experience and the compassion to do so. Do we make plans according to our will? Sometimes yes sometimes we think we might be but it is really God that is guiding us. Do we decide the steps that we need to take? No God does. Does God show us the path that we must take? Yes but it is not always clear to us.
11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11

9 The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps. Proverbs 16:9
And
21 Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand. Proverbs 19:21
