Consider This…

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2

It is the season of Lent a time where Christian develop a closer walk with Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior this year, 2024, the beginning of Lent started on February 14th which is also known as Ash Wednesday which occurs six and a half weeks before Easter. Ash Wednesday is a solemn reminder for the need for reconciliation with God. Lent is the season where Christians has a closer walk with God through repentance, abstinence and or fasting and prayer. Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior spent 40 days and 40 nights in the wilderness fasting and praying and Lent is a symbolic journey of the same During Lent many Christians practice repentance or the forgiveness of our sins.

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23

In short all people are sinners even Christians no one is blameless we all have fallen short of the glory of God so Christians do a lot of praying praying for forgiveness praying for other people praying for other people that have fallen to illness or misfortune praying for their own or other families and sometimes just praying to have a conversation with God.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

As Christians we know that we sin everyday whether we realize it or not. We are not perfect nor are we blameless so we pray every day for the forgiveness of our sins.

17 From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” Matthew 4:17

Here is a good reason to pray for the forgiveness of our sins because Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior will return and God’s kingdom will return with Him and all those that do believe in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior are saved those that do not will perish.

No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. Luke 13:3

For me repentance is a big issue because I know that I am not perfect and that I am a sinner whether I realize it or not. I can’t really fast because I am a diabetic as for abstinence I am really weak when it comes to Girl Scout cookies so I abstain from them and let me tell you it is not easy. So then Lent is making you better and having a closer walk with God which is great. God wants us to be better and have a longer life because God has plans for us.

As Christians we are to spread the Good News which is that God has sent his son Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior to die for our sins so that we can be reconciled to God by faith and repentance and in return we will receive the Holy Spirit and have eternal life. This is why Christians spread the Good News to everyone  because of all its goodness. Here are 7 reasons why we spread the spread God’s Word through this website.

38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38

“And He said to them, ‘Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.’” Mark 16:15

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” Matthew 24:14

“Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people— saying with a loud voice, ‘Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of His judgment has come; and worship Him who made heaven and earth, the sea and springs of water.’”  Revelation 14:6-7

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  Matthew 28:19-20

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.  Ephesians 2:8-9

And here is the 7th reason

Remember:

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
