What Happened to the Methodist Church? or Consider This

Grace and peace to you from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2

I had a blog already written and ready to go when a disturbing topic came from one of our pastor’s after Sunday’s prayer meeting. Apparently the United Methodist church has splintered under social strains of our present society…why I do not know.   The United Methodist church has decided to allow people of homosexuality to become pastors in the church and in response to this decision a group has splintered from the United Methodist church to uphold God’s commandments and will and said no to such things and call themselves Global Methodist. Now a third group has formed calling themselves The Reconciliation Methodist Church. This group is an all inclusive congregations including many of the LGBT+ individuals and their families to include transgender people and children and as such allows gay pastors.

I believe all churches should be all inclusive and be accepting of everyone. That is after all what God wanted us to do.

34 “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. John 13:34

And then there is this.

37 “‘Keep all my decrees and all my laws and follow them. I am the Lord.’” Leviticus 19:17

The scripture below is often referred to as “The Great Commission” where Jesus Christ that has risen from the dead told his disciples to tell the all the people of the world the “Good News” that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior and will save us and to follow his commandments and become believers of the Christian faith.

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”  Matthew 28:18-20

So then this has become the core of the Christian faith that we bring all the people the Good News that Jesus Christ can save us and to become believers of the Christian faith. or at least it is suppose too.
However now the gay community declares it deserves the right to be pastors in the Methodist church. Let me be clear on this in my opinion as a Christian I am to follow the commandments and the will of Jesus Christ our lord and savior what I think is not important but following God’s commandments and will which is wisdom is very important.

Let me restate last week’s scripture.

22 You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.  Leviticus 18:22

Traditional thinking is that Moses wrote the book of Leviticus which makes sense since Moses had direct communication to God and passed on the commandments and decrees that God put forth to the Israelites.

So it becomes clear that our Heavenly Father God Almighty thinks that acts of homosexuality are an abomination.  Then why do people think that gay pastors are okay to have?

The Methodist church is trying desperately to become the socially popular church and in that process has moved away from the wisdom and teachings of our Heavenly Father God Almighty. We have most certainly moved into the days of Godlessness.

3 But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty. For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power. Avoid such people. For among them are those who creep into households and capture weak women, burdened with sins and led astray by various passions, always learning and never able to arrive at a knowledge of the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men corrupted in mind and disqualified regarding the faith. 2 Timothy 3:1-8

Remember:

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
